Ash Wednesday – all invited
This Wednesday is Ash Wednesday when we commence the Lenten Season – a time of preparation for Easter. All parishioners are warmly invited to come to Mass (either 9.15am or 7.30pm) on Wednesday and be blessed with Ashes. During Lent we are encouraged to choose ways to “clear the channel” through prayer, abstinence and alms giving so that our hearts are ready to receive the extraordinary message of Easter. Project Compassion boxes will be available to pick up in the Church foyer next weekend. Parishioners are encouraged to use this opportunity to contribute to those who need assistance to alleviate poverty. Our contributions are well spent by Caritas Australia to undertake this task.

We are looking for volunteers to help assist with the weekly flower arrangement for our church. We are looking for a couple of new people to join our wonderful team of ladies currently on the flower roster. No experience necessary and there are many ladies on the roster who will be available to help if you are a little uncertain. Please contact Adriana at the parish office on 9723 4275 if you can assist. Thank you.

Fr Joseph was informed this week by the provincial, Sr Josephine, that our dear sisters Shirley & Marea will also be leaving our parish community.
Our sisters have been part of our parish for approx. 18 years and will be dearly missed. We are very grateful for the many years of service and their contributions to our parish.
As advised in last week’s newsletter, Sr Rosalie will be leaving mid March, Sr Marea & Sr Shirley plan to leave after Easter.
A farewell mass will be organised at a date to be advised.
Any money contributions received will go towards the gifts for all three sisters.
