National Vocations Awareness Week 3rd-10th August
The theme for this year is from Pope Francis’ Letter for World Day of Prayer for Vocations: “Every vocation is an exodus from self… it leads us on a journey of Adoration of the Lord…and service to him in our brothers and sisters.”

FEAST OF ST PETER JULIAN EYMARD

Prayer in Honour of Saint Peter Julian Eymard Gracious God of our ancestors, you led Peter
Julian Eymard, like Jacob in times past, on a journey of faith.

Under the guidance of your gentle Spirit, Peter Julian discovered the gift of love in the Eucharist which your son Jesus offered for the hungers of  humanity.

Grant that we may celebrate this mystery worthily, adore it profoundly, and proclaim it
prophetically for your greater glory. Amen

St Peter Julian Eymard
Apostle of the Eucharist pray
for us!

Update on the Filipino Family

The Parish of SPJE supports a family known to Fr Joseph in the Philippines.  He sent this message this week:
The family of Camela is very grateful for the support they have received from our parishioners. With a life threatening illness, Camela is trying hard to find a job abroad. She is aware of not being dependent on the parish. At present, she is trying her luck and
applying to work in Japan as a nurse. I will be going to visit her family this weekend.
Best wishes, Fr Joseph
